Nipsey Hussle’s Alleged Killer Is ‘Nervous’ As Trial Date Set For January 2022
A trial date has been set for Eric Holder, the man accused of killing rapper Nipsey Hussle in 2019. A Los Angeles County judge recently set Eric Holder’s trial for Jan. 5, 2022. The long-awaited trial has been placed on pause multiple times due to COVID concerns, the previous judge in the trial retiring, and the resignation of Eric Holder’s previous attorney Christopher Darden, who was a co-prosecutor in O.J. Simpson’s infamous trial.
As previously reported, Holder is being accused of fatally shooting Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, outside of the rapper’s South L.A. clothing store, Marathon Clothing, on March 31, 2019. He also allegedly kicked Nipsey Hussle in the head after shooting him.

Holder has pleaded not guilty to his charges which include – one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of felony possession of a firearm. Holder’s lawyer spoke about the upcoming trial in a recent interview and said that his client is,
“nervous, but he knows it’s time to get the case moving to trial”.
In a previous interview this past June, Holder’s lawyer spoke on his alleged mental health issues. He said,
“He does have a significant mental health history. One of the things affecting him [in March 2019] was that his mother had just passed away. He was pretty despondent.”
