Britney Spears Breaks The Internet W/ Nude Photos

Pop icon Britney Spears set social media on fire yesterday (Jan. 7) when she posed nude on Instagram. The former teen sensation posted two mirror selfies, in which the heart and flower emojis were the only objects censoring her private parts. She captioned the photos:

“Free woman energy has never felt better.”

It appears that Britney–who recently celebrated her 40th birthday–turned the comments off on her posts. But that didn’t stop the internet from reacting to her shocking photoshoot.

Following her public breakdown in 2007, Britney Spears was placed under a reportedly strict conservatorship. Her father, Jamie Spears, was her conservator.

Fans have alleged he used the platinum-selling artist as a cash cow for years, using drugs and other illegal modes of control. As a result of the tight hold, she lost custody of her two children, reportedly had no authority over her finances, and rarely had contact with the outside world. The conservatorship was lifted in 2021.

While many people speculated that the singer had a severe mental illness after the behavior she displayed in the late 2000s, an official diagnosis was never revealed.

Since the end of her conservatorship, the Crossroads star has frequently posted videos of herself dancing or lengthy entries on Instagram.

In September 2021, Britney became engaged to her boyfriend, 27-year-old actor and personal trainer Sam Asghari.
