EXCLUSIVE: WE tv Prepping New Reality Show About All-Black Synchronized Female Figure Skaters

theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports there is a new reality tv show heading to WE tv! Sources tell us, this will be a docu-series following the lives of a group of teenage figure skaters on their journey to becoming the world’s first all-Black competitive synchronized skating team! Reportedly, we will witness the young girls prepare to compete in the 2022 ISI Synchronized Championship.

While the skating team consists of twelve ladies, we’re told the series will focus on five of the members, taking a deep dive into the pressures of being a teenage athlete as well as explore the team and family dynamics amongst this group. The show will also capture the hard work and dedication of the Olympic hopeful teens and will highlight the mother-daughter relationships and the sacrifices made by parents willing to spend money and travel, showing the overall hustle and bustle as their children chase their dreams.

According to reports, world-renowned ice figure skater-turned-Coach, Rory Flack will be spearheading the Olympic hopefuls. This is a huge honor as she was the first Black woman to win the US Open Professional Figure Skating Championship. She is said to be relentless, quirky, determined and will stop at nothing until her girls are the first to break through the barriers Black athletes face in the White-dominated world of figure skating.

Reportedly, the series will be a combination of Netflix’s Cheer–with its docu-series narrative– Lifetime’s Dance Moms, adding a bit of comedic relief, and the grit of Last Chance U.

While the release date has not yet been announced, it looks like We tv may have another hit show on their hands!
