Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby Opens Up About Separation From Husband, Michael Darby: It’s Not For The Reasons That A Lot Of People Think

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby is opening up about her recent separation from husband, Michael Darby!

During a recent appearance of Fox 5 DC, the RHOP vet gave a little more insight on her split from Michael Darby, 62. Ashley Darby, 33, revealed that she and Michael are still living in the same home amid their separation, which may come as surprise to some fans.

“My kids are pretty young. My son is 2, my other son is 1, so they don’t really have an awareness. Michael and I are still living together, we’re still under the same roof so no difference for them.”

Ashley then confirms that fans will indeed get to see the unfortunate demise of her marriage on the upcoming season of RHOP.

“It does limit a lot of what I can disclose here. They’re documenting and all of that is unfolding.”

When asked how she is handling the public’s reaction to her separation from Michael, Ashley had this to say:

 “I’m not really taking it in. Even though I’m a public figure and I put so much of myself out there for public consumption, ultimately–especially now that I have kids, what is most important is there well being and my well being. So, I appreciate the support I’m getting. That’s nice and that’s all I can ask for.”

While she didn’t give much detail, Ashley Darby says fans will be surprised by the reasons she and Michael truly separated.

” My marriage has been through quite a lot. I’ve been open about that on the show. We’ve had issues with infidelity that we’ve overcome. So, it’s nothing of that nature.”

Ashley continued,

“It will definitely be–I think it’s a little bit of a cause for pause for people, and that’s why they will want to see the show because I do give more of an insight as to how and why we got to this place and it’s not for the reasons a lot of people think.”

As previously reported, The Real Housewives of Potomac star announced on Apr.19 that she and her husband Michael Darby, “have decided to separate” after nearly 8 years of marriage. The mother-of-two explained in part,

“Almost eight years ago, when Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward. Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate. We are aware that there will be many speculative views as to why we have made this decision. People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences. Pieces of all these may have affected our pure love for each other, but no one reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways.”

The Darby’s began sharing their lives on the debut season of The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2016, and since then, fans have beared witness to the couples many ups and downs. Viewers have seen the pair discuss failed business ventures, cheating rumors, sexual assault claims, age gap issues, family dynamics and much more!
