Jennifer Lopez opened up about her Oscars snub in her new Netflix documentary.
Jennifer Lopez starred in the crime and drama film “Hustlers” toward the end of 2019. At the time, there was buzz for an Oscar-nomination, for her role in the film. However, she did not receive a nomination.

In a teaser for her new Netflix documentary “Halftime,” it was revealed that Jennifer Lopez was heavily affected by not receiving an Oscar-nomination. In the documentary, the 52-year-old singer, dancer, and actress is brought to tears after learning she did not get nominated in 2020.

Following the unfortunate Oscar news, Lopez shared how her self-esteem was affected due to never receiving an Oscar. She said in a voice over:
“It was hard. I just had a very low self esteem.”
She added:
“I had to really figure out who I was and believe in that and not believe in anything else.”
In addition, she noted in her doc that she did not work so hard to get recognition or awards, but to connect with individuals that are tuned in. Lopez shared:
“I do this not for an award. No, I do this to connect with people.”
The “Hustlers” film was released on September 13, 2019. The film stars Lopez as a pole dancer turned con artist working to make ends meet.
Known as Ramona in the hit film, the dazzling actress was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Lopez was also awarded Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role along with Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress.
