‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Shares She Doesn’t Believe In Abortion For Any Reason, But Disagrees W/ The Supreme Court’s Decision To Overturn Roe v. Wade [VIDEO]

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin recently discussed her anti-abortion stance amid the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade.

During the June 27 (Monday) episode of the talk show, Sunny Hostin stunned fellow show hosts when she addressed that she does not believe in abortions for any reason, including incest and rape.

Sunny Hostin, 53, and “The View” co-hosts spent the majority of the hour-long episode discussing the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade — the ruling that ended a pregnant woman’s right to choose to have an abortion.

While Hostin did express she is pro-life, she also addressed her stance on the Supreme Court justices being able to overturn Roe v. Wade because of their beliefs. She began with:

“The court is basically saying it’s time to welcome all this new life yet we can shoot them with our newly available, completely unrestricted guns. That conflict, it was sort of shocking to me. It’s unbelievable that precedent doesn’t seem to matter anymore.”

Hostin later said:

“I don’t believe in abortion, at any time. I don’t believe in any exception to it.”

Co-host Sarah Haines, 44, curiously followed with, “Even incest, rape?” Hostin answered,

 “No, I don’t. I don’t.”

Hostin continued:

“That’s considered very radical for many people, and it’s because I’m Catholic and that’s my faith. And, you know, the justices — there are six Catholics on the bench, and there will be two Protestants because the newest justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson, is Protestant and there will be one person of Jewish faith.

She added:

“And so this has always been a very difficult discussion for me, but what is not difficult for me is the fact that this is an activist Supreme Court and they should not be deciding the law based on their faith. And even though I agree with Alito on the sanctity of life… but the fact that he clearly is using his religion and wielding it is pretty terrible.”

As previously reported, the Supreme Court ruled on June 23 that they would be overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision which granted women federal protection of abortion put in place in 1973. The decision now leaves abortion laws up to the state, which some states in the U.S. have officially banned following the controversial verdict.
