R. Kelly’s Alleged Fiancé Joycelyn Savage’s Family Doesn’t Believe She’s Engaged To The Imprisoned Singer: Joycelyn We Need To Hear From You Directly
R. Kelly’s alleged fiancé Joycelyn Savage’s family doesn’t believe their engagement is real.
Joycelyn Savage’s parents’ attorney, Gerald Griggs, stated Joycelyn Savage never announced the engagement to their families and it was never discussed about the possibility prior. Reports state Griggs found it weird that Savage didn’t testify about it under oath but wrote a letter to the court instead.
In a recent interview, Savage’s family said they don’t buy the engagement story. Timothy Savage, Savage’s father said:
“We tried to reach out to Joycelyn when my father passed. We have always reached out to his camp, Robert’s investors camp, in the same time we had to reach out to his camp through my father, the same way his time jumped from his mother. No response what’s so ever. It’s time up for that. It’s just time out for all that.”
A family member continued:
“Joycelyn we need to hear from you directly. We’ve always heard through third parties information. We weren’t able to hear from her directly without prison calls, where the calls are scripted and they are known to be scripted.
Timothy Savage added:
“Everybody wanna say she’s grown. Let me hear from a grown woman. I wanna hear from my daughter. That’s what I wanna hear from. I don’t wanna hear from no third party. I wanna hear exactly from Joycelyn Savage, period.”
A family member said:
“We would like to have a one-on-one discussion with you as a family.”
Timothy Savage explained:
“Listen, Robert is locked up all these enables need to move aside. Joycelyn I need to see you at that funeral. Just that simple.”
As previously reported, Savage announced her engagement before R. Kelly, 55, was sentenced by writing “I’m Robert Kelly’s fiance.” Savage wrote a letter to the judge asking the court to grant R. Kelly with a lenient sentence, however, it doesn’t state when they got engaged.
Savage claimed in the letter:
“I’m not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”
The alleged victim described her relationship with Kelly to be amazing. Savage stated:
“My relationship with Robert is amazing. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him. Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be. The Robert I know is very sweet, gentle, and kind. At the end of the day, he has always made sure that I’m taken care of, and any other women he was with as well.”
The letter didn’t help the convicted R&B singer. As previously reported, Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday (June 29). The 55-year-old was found guilty of all counts of racketeering and sex trafficking. He was ordered to pay a fine of $100,000 as well as attend mandatory mental health treatment upon his release. According to reports, legal documents state Kelly will get therapy for a sexual disorder and he must not have contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Savage made headlines in 2019 when she announced that she and Azriel Clary were both Kelly’s girlfriends and they were not abused while living with him. However, Savage’s parents claim that she was being held against her will.
