Iman Shumpert Arrested For Felony Weed Possession At Dallas Airport
Iman Shumpert got into a little bit of trouble over the weekend.
According to recently released reports, NBA player Iman Shumpert, 32, was arrested on Saturday (July 30) for having a “sizeable” amount of marijuana in his backpack at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.
Per the police report, officers responded to a potential drug violation call around 2:40 in the afternoon after TSA screeners found a plastic bag filled with a “green leafy substance” in Iman’s bag. Reportedly, Iman was flying from Dallas to Los Angeles to reconnect with his family.

During the incident, the free agent reportedly admitted the substance was weed. Authorities claim the confiscated weed weighed 6.12 ounces. In addition to that, the police report states that Iman Shumpert expressed concern about missing his trip to visit his daughter, but the responding officer informed the professional athlete that he would not be making that flight, as he was being placed under arrest for marijuana possession. He was then placed in handcuffs and transported to the airport jail without any issue.
The charge is classified as a “State Jail Felony,” meaning Iman faces up to two years behind bars and a $10K fine if convicted.
It’s unclear where Iman is currently at, but earlier today (Aug. 3), new posts were added to his IG page and IG stories — seemingly indicating that he has since been released.
