Diplo Wins $1.2 Million In Lawsuit Against Ex For Allegedly Harassing Him & His Family, DJ Claims She’s An ‘Obsessed Unstable Fan’ & Her 15 Minutes Of Fame Are Now Over
Musician Diplo is celebrating a big win in court!
Court documents obtained by RadarOnline reveal that the 43-year-old DJ, born Thomas Wesley Pentz, has finally reached the end of an ongoing court battle with one of his exes. Shelly Auguste, 26, was sued by her famous former fling last year, who accused her of relentless harassment. As a result of the suit, Diplo was awarded $1.2 million in damages.
Reportedly, Diplo presented evidence in court that proved Auguste went on a “campaign to ruin his life” after he broke things off with her. The disk jockey says that following the two briefly dating back in 2019, Auguste began “sending nonstop messages,” as well as sending sexually explicit photos of him to family members. Additionally, Diplo says that Auguste, who he labeled a “relentless and unstable fan who manipulated herself into his life,” began showing up repeatedly at his home. Court documents stated that the music artist was “so in fear that he sold the property and moved elsewhere.”
Prior to filing the lawsuit, Diplo and Auguste engaged in several public back-and-forths. In October of last year, the “Don’t Forget My Love” artist released all receipts on his relationship with Auguste after she filed a restraining order against him. Auguste accused the musician of releasing explicit photos of her online. Diplo rebutted, claiming his ex was an “obsessed fan” that “scammed” her way into his inner circle, sharing a slew of messages that allegedly proved so.
Following last year’s lawsuit, Auguste reportedly countersued Diplo, alleging that he gave her chlamydia and began pursuing her at just 17. Diplo’s lawyers responded, stating:
“These latest false claims are just part of that ongoing campaign of harassment, and we will not allow them to deter us from pursuing justice against her to the fullest extent possible under the law….Auguste is an obsessive and unstable fan” who “has a history of harassment and at least one permanent injunction for stalking issued against her. She is angered by the fact that her brief, consensual relationship with [Diplo] has ended.”
Adding:
“She has also shown herself to be an extortionist, willing to publish numerous lies about her self and [Diplo] and risk civil and criminal exposure in meritless effort to obtain as much money as she can, simply for having met and had consensual sex with a celebrity musician. Her fifteen minutes of fame are now over, however, as, more importantly, is her ability to harm [Diplo] and his family.”
