As you may already know, “Straight Outta Compton” actor Ice Cube is the owner of the BIG3 League. According to reports, the NBA and ESPN are allegedly working hard to “destroy” his sports franchise. Ice Cube’s BIG3 League was officially recognized as the first Black-owned sports league by the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. and ByBlack. In a statement the 53-year-old said:
“Myself and the entire league are honored to be officially certified by ByBlack and the U.S. Black Chambers.”
Cube continued:
“From day one, the league has been dedicated to providing opportunities for Black players, fans, investors, and partners, and we are proud to be a part of a nationwide network of Black business owners.”
The California rapper added:
“Supporting Black enterprise is a lifelong passion of mine and the BIG3 will continue to build upon its successes and lift up other Black entrepreneurs.”

Since then, Cube claimed NBA and ESPN have been working to tarnish his brand. He took to Twitter to share a video from Stephen Jackson, NBA veteran, supporting his brand and wrote:
“Appreciate you @DaTrillStak5. We definitely need everybody’s support. The @nba and @espn are doing everything in their powers to ignore or destroy @thebig3.”

Cube has alleged that the NBA has had animosity toward him since he launched BIG3. In an interview over the summer, Cube spoke about the relationship between himself and the NBA. He said:
“The NBA hasn’t been the nicest to the BIG3.”
Cube continued:
“Of course, publicly, they say all the right words. But we know privately, there’s things done behind the scenes [with] sponsors, broadcasters, blah blah blah… It did tarnish my fandom a bit.”
As previously reported, Cube added:
“So … that soured me a little bit. I love the league and I still respect the league, [but] I think they should do more with the BIG3. We’ve proven ourselves, we have a lot of their players, or ex-players and ex-ambassadors as part of this league. They believe in the league, so I wish the NBA would see that we’re complementary.”
