Rickey Smiley’s Son Brandon Passes Away At 32 [Condolences]

Send up a prayer for the Smiley family.

Radio personality Ricky Smiley announced earlier today (January 29th) that his son Brandon Smiley has sadly passed away.

The morning show host made the tragic announcement in a video posted to his instagram page. Along with a video explaining that he wanted his followers to hear the news from him first, Smiley stated:

“I just have bad news this morning….I just want everyone to pray for me, pray for my family. My son Brandon Smiley has passed away this morning….I’m okay. Pray for my sons mother. And my sons siblings…I hate to announce this, I just want to give it to you before you hear it in the streets,”

Adding the caption:

“I lost my oldest son #BrandonSmiley this morning. I’m okay, but please pray for my son’s mother Brenda, his siblings and his daughter Storm.”

It’s unclear of the nature of Brandon’s death, however, Smiley did make a comment about losing him the same way his grandfather lost his father. During the video, the Dallas based radio host stated:

“My grandaddy went through this sh*t with my dad and somehow now I’m going through the same thing my grandparents went through…just pray for my family.”

Brandon was 32 at his time of death, and would have celebrated his 33rd birthday next month. The media personality was working towards following in his father’s entertainment footsteps doing acting and comedy work, often posting funny memes to his instagram feed. Brandon is survived by both his parents, siblings, and daughter Storm.
