Trey Songz Seemingly Reacts To Being Sued For $25M, Alongside Atlantic Records & Manager Kevin Liles, Over Rape Allegation: Lies Will Never Be The Truth

Trey Songz’s management has been dragged into his legal issues.

Reportedly, singer Trey Songz is being sued for $25M due to a previous sexual assault accusation. The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Thursday (Feb. 9) also names Atlantic Records, the singer’s label, manager Kevin Liles, and 300 Entertainment as defendants, claiming that they were aware of Trey Songz’s, born Tremaine Neverson, actions.

The hefty lawsuit is in connection with a sexual battery lawsuit filed by Jane Done last February against the “Gotta Make It” artist alleging he sodomized the woman at a party in March 2016. The victim’s attorney George Vrabeck made a statement against Atlantic Records, music executive Kevin Liles and the label he co-founded, for ignoring the allegations against their artist throughout the years. Vrabeck said:

“This case is much more than about one singer and one viciously abused sexual assault survivor who has the courage to take action.” 

Vrabeck added:

 “It’s also very much about the systematic sexual abuse in the music industry and the music industry’s complicity in silencing sexual abuse survivors. It’s virtually impossible to believe that those executives are not and were not aware of the institutionalized sexual abuse.”

On Thursday night (Feb. 9) Songz took to his Instagram story and seemingly claimed the victim’s accusations are fabricated. On a black background, he wrote:

“Lies will never be the truth. No matter how chooses to believe such. Alhamdulillah.”

Jane Doe’s allegations match up to her first lawsuit, which was dismissed last November due to the statute of limitations. As previously reported, the victim claimed the two were partying in the West Hills section of Los Angeles when the 38-year-old entertainer allegedly led her to a bedroom. Jane Doe, who acknowledged the two had a consensual sexual history, claimed she was expecting to have a consensual encounter with the singer. However once inside the room, she said things were different and Songz allegedly threw her to the ground before anally raping her.

Amid screaming in pain, Jane Doe reportedly fought to get free and begged him to stop. According to the lawsuit, following the alleged attack, she claimed a worried Lyft driver took her to a nearby hospital where she was given medical treatment and sexual assault counseling. After the tragedy, Jane Doe said Songz harassed her when they crossed paths again. Allegedly, during a New Year’s Eve event, he exclaimed that she was a “slut” and a “liar,” before making security throw her out of the party.

According to the lawsuit, Trey frightened the victim to the point where she moved to another state. In addition, another artist allegedly demanded that she  “keep [Trey’s] name out her f*ck*ng mouth or he’d kill her.”

The new suit argues that by Atlantic Records, Kevin Liles, and his 300 Entertainment label, continuing to have a working relationship with Songz, despite the serious allegations against him, they “are responsible in some manner” for his behavior.

Songz’s accuser noted that she’s one of many to accuse the “One Love” singer of sexual abuse, listing 10 other incidents in which he was accused of sexual assault, sexual intimidation, or physical violence against men and women.
