Trey Songz Rape Civil Case Dismissed, Statute Of Limitations Passed
Trigga’s civil suit for an alleged rape case back in 2016 has been dismissed.
Recent reports have confirmed that Trey Songz will no longer be facing a civil lawsuit for an alleged rape that occurred in 2016 because after legal documents showed the statute of limitations ran out on the allegations, the case was dismissed.

On Monday (Oct. 31) Trey Songz was free from the civil suit after his attorneys strongly argued the statute of limitations expired way before the woman, who is being referred to as Jane Doe, filed her complaint against the singer. As previously reported, Jane Doe filed the lawsuit earlier this year alleging that she had a consensual sexual relationship with Trey Songz, born Tremaine Neverson on March 24, 2016. However, according to the alleged victim, the “Can’t Be Friends” artist immediately turned into a “savage rapist.” Jane Doe claims the 37-year-old took control over her and anally raped her after begging him to stop.

The statute of limitations in California is currently 10 years but it wasn’t made official until 2019. Prior to that, it was three years but Jane Doe filed six years after the alleged rape. The woman was initially suing Trey Songz for $20 million in damages.
