Media Personality Tamera Kissen Responds To Backlash Over Awkward Interview w/ The City Girls: ‘The Community Really Don’t F*ck w/ You If You Ain’t Full Black’
Tamera Kissen (aka himynamesteee) thinks her latest interveiw would have been received better if she was “full Black.”
Tamera Kissen is currently receiving a lot of (constructive) criticism following her now-viral interview with the rap group City Girls.
After the City Girls did their thing on stage over the weekend at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, they met with media personality Tamera “Tee” Kissen for a quick interview and things got awkward very fast. At the start of the chat, Yung Miami couldn’t hold back from asking Tamera Kissen if they previously met.
During their off-topic conversation, JT, 30, looked confused, especially after Tee went back and with for a while with her groupmate about how they might know each other.

Tee proceeded with the interview and instead of asking the rappers if they knew it was the “50th year of hip-hop,” she asked:
“Did you know it’s the 50th day of hip-hop today?”
Yung Miami laughed and replied:
“No.”
Tee chimed in:
“Me either, they told me to talk about it, I don’t know why.”
The interview became more cringe as Tee continued:
“When was the last time y’all let a broke dude hit?”
After JT, born Jatavia Johnson, shared “probably like 2014,” Tee then asked:
“How many years ago was that?”

When Tee told Yung Miami to “do the math on it,” the 29-year-old laughed while JT stood in awkwardness. Tee wasn’t done with her unique questions and also asked,
“Do you guys ever feel competitive against one another?”
After JT replied:
“Thats weird as f*ck. You and your friends competitive against each other?”
Tee shared:
“No. But I was just asking y’all ‘cause you guys are really close. You guys are with each other all the time and at the end of the day rap is a competitive game.”
“But bloggers and journalists are the same”
Lol. Stop giving everyone a mic. Followers doesn’t equate tact. Let’s do better. pic.twitter.com/9Y5kRlOvtA

After the awkward interview surfaced on the internet, many people claimed Tee’s line of questioning was concerning and “cringe.”

Following the backlash, Tee took to Twitter to respond to the criticism she received. In a series of tweets, she wrote:
“Some FYI: When footage is raw and unedited like that and people throw things at you last min as an interviewer it’s because someone on the job doesn’t want you to do good. Nothing I haven’t dealt w before.”
She continued:
“Sh*t really ain’t that serious.”
“The girls that don’t like me all look the saaaaaame.”
She said:
“The industry is literally high school.”
She added:
“Cus at the end of the day I STILL GOT PAID.”

Reportedly, in a now-deleted tweet, she also said:
“The community really don’t f*ck with you if you ain’t full black, let’s just be honest.”
