Ciara & Husband Russell Wilson Visit Maximum Security Prison, Couple Sings & Reads Bible Verses w/ 300 Inmates
The Wilsons are racking up their good samaritan points this year!
Singer Ciara, 37, and her husband Russell Wilson, 34, recently lifted the spirits of over 300 inmates during a trip to Everglades Correctional Institution in Florida. During their visit, the couple, who married in 2016, spent time with the inmates as they talked about God, danced, and sang a few songs.

Russell Wilson also read a few bible verses to the incarcerated men who seemed to be overjoyed by his presence. Ciara and Russell’s visit to the prison was seemingly in connection with the “God Behind Bars” organization, which, according to their IG page, aims to “connect prisoners and their families to Christ by connecting them to the local church.”

The organization shared a video clip online of the famed couple’s time with the inmates. In the clip, Ciara became emotional while sharing encouraging words with the men. In part, the post is captioned,
“27 incarcerated men gave their lives to Jesus inside of a maximum security prison. 300 incarcerated men filled the prison chapel to hear a word from [Russell Wilson.]”
The post continued,
“The voices of the incarcerated were so loud, it felt like it could be heard by the entire prison. In a place so easily filled with so much division, there was a moment where Incarcerated men put their arms around each other and prayed for those struggling with anxiety and depression. After [Ciara] sang WAYMAKER, men came to the front and wept, giving their lives to Jesus. Many of these men are serving life sentences in prison, but now they will be spending LIFE with Jesus.”

Russell Wilson also shared footage from the heartwarming moment on his own IG page. He said,
“Lord there’s nothing better than YOU!!! Over 300 Maximum Prison Inmates worshipping Jesus! His Grace and Spirit is overwhelming in the midst of mistakes He still loves and forgives.”

Russell Wilson made headlines earlier this year for his charitable actions, but it wasn’t for the best of reasons. As previously reported, in February, accusations claimed that his organization “Why Not You” Foundation spent $600,000 on charitable activities in 2020 and 2021 but spent nearly twice as much, $1.1 million, on salaries and non-charity related benefits.
However, the executive director of the organization slammed the claims and said,
“It is disheartening that a narrow account of our work has attempted to diminish the important impact the WNYF has made in the lives of so many youth and families.’’
