Nigerian Singer Tiwa Savage Confirms Suspects Who Recently Tried To Kidnap Her Are Now In Police Custody

Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage is safe and sound after a recent abduction attempt.

According to reports, members of Tiwa Savage’s domestic staff allegedly orchestrated a kidnapping scheme, which made national headlines last week.

Although details surrounding the horrific occurrence are limited, investigators discovered that the employees had been documenting Tiwa Savage’s out-of-home whereabouts and informing the plotted attackers with “vital information” about the “Stamina” phenomenon.

Fortunately, upon cutting the capturing ploy short, Savage was (seemingly) placed under protection by officials and her private security team.

Oluniyi Ogundeyi, from The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department, told local news channels that the suspects in connection with the crime had been obtained by authorities.

The Lagos-based representative said,

“Yes, we have some suspects. They are in our custody, [and] there are about four [of them].”

Following the notion of Savage’s failed kidnapping, her management took to Instagram and released a statement, updating the fans on the 43-year-old vocalist’s well-being.

The press note started off with a confirmation of the reported incident, which read:

“We can confirm that on Thursday 13th April 2023 there was a major security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage.”

It continued,

“A number of suspects were caught and are currently being held under investigation at Alagnon Police Station, Ikoyi. Ms Savage and her family are safe and well.”

Since the troubling event, Savage has been active on her Instagram Stories. However, it doesn’t appear that she’s spoken any further on the matter.

Deemed the “Queen of Afrobeats,” the celebrated performer rose to prominence in 2013, with the unveiling of her debut album, ‘Once Upon a Time.’ She then went on to become a global superstar, with award-winning music that has resonated with a number of audiences of all age groups.
