Young Thug’s Attorney ‘Concerned About His Well-Being’ After Rapper Was Transported To Hospital Amid High-Profile RICO Case
Young Thug just can’t seem to catch a break lately.
According to reports, court proceedings came to a pause today (May 11) after Young Thug (real name Jefferey Williams) became ill and was taken to the hospital.
Keith Adams, the rapper’s attorney, stated in court that the musician was being assessed following his hospital visit but he “had no idea what his condition was at the currently.”
According to Adams, Young Thug encountered “some difficulty of a similar sort” in the Cobb County Jail, where he has been detained for almost a year after being charged in the extensive RICO case against the alleged Young Slime Life street gang — which officials believe he leads.
Adams told the judge,
“I’m obviously very concerned about his wellbeing.”
While it’s still unclear why exactly Young Thug received medical treatment, reports claim he’s already been released and is expected to be back in the courtroom tomorrow to continue with jury selection.

Young Thug
Young Thug is facing a gang activity charge from 2018 and a charge of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act from 2013. He and his attorneys continue to maintain his innocence.
The rapper’s attorneys claimed in court documents filed last month that their client — who has repeatedly been denied bond — is “languishing” in custody because the jury selection process has taken months and several potential jurors have tried to submit hardship exemption requests.
Attorney Brian Steel said Young Thug is unable to maintain his health, alleging in a motion filed on April 24 that his client relies on foods with “zero health benefits,” including chocolate and chips, due to limited access to healthy dietary options.

The rapper allegedly has had limited access to sunlight and fresh air since initially being arrested last May, and his ability to exercise is constrained by his cramped cell. Steel further asserts that his client is “sleep-deprived” because he only gets five hours of sleep per night and has to wake up between 3 and 4 a.m. on court days.
Steel contended,
“By the end of the week, Mr. Williams is fighting to pay attention to the goings on in his case.”
