Kate Middleton Confesses To ‘Editing’ Viral Mother’s Day Photo After Social Media Calls Out Pic’s Inconsistencies: ‘Like Many Amateur Photographers, I Do Occasionally Experiment’
It looks like Kate Middleton may have the palace in shambles right now.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has been trending on social media due to her latest flick on Instagram.

In the now-viral post, Kate Middleton shared a family photo to celebrate U.K. Mother’s Day Sunday (Mar. 10). The image captured the 42-year-old alongside her and her husband Prince William’s three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
She wrote in the caption,
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”
Kate signed it off with photographer credits to Prince William and the initial of her full first name, Catherine.

Following the upload, users deeply examined the shot and pointed out a few inconsistencies in the imagery. After zooming in, viewers found that the perimeter of Princess Charlotte’s skirt was oddly placed, and certain areas of the photo appeared blurry.
Other parts of her clothing and hands came up a little off. Most notably, people highlighted that Kate wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t only the fans who suspected the picture had been tweaked. According to an outlet, a few agencies denied circulation of the photo. Royal newscaster Chris Ship revealed a Kill Notification from AP, accusing the image of being “manipulated.”

Amid the commotion, Kate took to X to address the matter on Monday ( Mar.11).
She wrote in her apology,
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

A source told a publication that only “minor adjustments” were made, but a TikToker theorized that elements of the photo were taken from other pictures that dated back to November 2023.

As you may know, in January, it was announced that Kate was recovering from abdominal surgery.
The palace said in a statement,
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to [the] hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in [the] hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

However, many conspiracies have erupted online after users noticed she had been missing in action for quite a while.
More recently, speculation strengthened when Prince William failed to appear at his godfather’s memorial service for “personal reasons.”
Although it’s reported that paparazzi spotted Kate in a vehicle a few days ago, the Mother’s Day fiasco was the first official sighting of her since the operation. But… a #WhereIsKate hashtag has now ensued on X well, and most aren’t buying Kate’s alleged response.
