Diddy — Authorities May Reinvestigate Music Mogul’s 1999 Nightclub Shooting Trial Amid Sexual Assault Probe
The infamous nightclub shooting investigation involving rappers Diddy and Shyne may receive further examination.
According to reports, law enforcement could reopen an investigation into a December 1999 incident involving Sean “Diddy” Combs, formerly known as Puffy, as part of their investigation into the hip-hop mogul.

You may recall that Diddy was leaving Club New York when he got into a fight with a man named Matthew “Scar” Allen. The altercation led to gunfire that resulted in the injury of three people.

While both Diddy and Shyne faced weapon violations on top of additional charges, the Bad Boys Records founder was acquitted of all charges. However, as for Shyne, he was handed a 10-year prison sentence for two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm.
The reinvestigation into the matter comes after music producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones Jr. sued Diddy for sexual harassment and misconduct in February. In the lawsuit, Lil Rod hinted that the music executive was involved in the shooting by alleging he bragged,
“about bribing witnesses, and jurors in the criminal case concerning the 1999 NYC nightclub shooting with Shyne.”

Lil Rod
In addition, one of the victims of the nightclub shooting, Natania Reuben, spoke out following the lawsuit and stated Diddy was the one who shot her and not Shyne.
Referring to Lil Rod’s filing from the night of the incident, she purportedly said,
“He said something very specific. As a means of threatening him, Puffy said, ‘That’s why I shot up the club in New York back in 1999 and let Shyne take the fall for it.’”
