‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Producers Announce Nicole Brown Simpson Documentary Following O.J. Simpson’s Sudden Passing
Lifetime, in collaboration with the producers behind the acclaimed Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, has unveiled plans for a new documentary centered around Nicole Brown Simpson, marking the 30-year anniversary of her tragic death.
The announcement of the docuseries comes just weeks after O.J. Simpson’s passing from metastatic prostate cancer on April 10, sparking social media conversation about what many hail as the trial of the century.
Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J. Simpson’s former wife, was tragically found brutally murdered outside her Brentwood condominium in 1994. Despite O.J. Simpson being accused and acquitted of her murder, as well as the murder of her friend Ron Goldman, he was later found liable for both deaths in a 1997 civil lawsuit.
While the timing of the announcement may raise eyebrows, Lifetime asserts that the project has been in development for over a year, with the aim of providing a platform for Nicole Brown Simpson’s own narrative. Titled The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, this documentary will feature insights from 50 individuals who were intimately connected to her and reportedly unveil ‘”shocking new details” about her life and death, as her sisters and close friends come forward for the first time.

Produced by Bunim/Murray Productions for Lifetime, the docuseries features a notable lineup of executive producers, including Jesse Daniels, Rit Saraswat, and Brie Miranda Bryant from Surviving R. Kelly fame. It is part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women initiative and is being produced in collaboration with the National Domestic Abuse Hotline.
The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson is set to air on June 1 and on June 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
