Update: DJ Akademiks Says He’s ‘An Innocent Man’ As He Labels Rape & Defamation Lawsuit From Ex A ‘Shakedown’ For Money

Update: (May 14, 2024): Media personality DJ Akademiks is maintaining his innocence.

During a live stream chat today (May 14), Akademiks denied the rape allegations from his ex-romantic partner, Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe. In part, he said,

“Whatever this is will be handled in court, just know that according to the law and according to the police…Akademiks is an innocent man who has not ever been charged with anything of the sort that has to do with any deviancy or anything like that. Has never been charged. Will never be charged, that’s a fact.”

He continued,

“This is a civil situation brewing, this is a shakedown, a money tree situation. …Is Akademiks under a criminal investigation, absolutely not. Is Akademiks at risk of being arrested for a first-degree felony, or any felony misdemeanor, otherwise, absolutely not.”

After noting the matter will be “handled in court,” Akademiks alluded that the attorney representing his alleged victim is the same person representing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against Diddy. According to Akademiks, the legal professional is out to get him due to things he’s said about Lil Rod.

Original Story: (May 14, 2024): Internet personality DJ Akademiks was recently hit with an assault and defamation lawsuit.

Reports state that one of the YouTuber’s former romantic partners filed a legal complaint against him, alleging he and others at his home sexually abused her.

As previously reported, a woman by the name of Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe came forward last year accusing DJ Akademiks and his associates of drugging and raping her. In response, the podcaster, real name Livingston Allen, denied the allegations and reversely accused his ex of being promiscuous and sleeping with two of his friends while he was passed out drunk. Ziya Abashe vowed at the time that her full story would come to light, which recently did in the form of a lawsuit.

In the legal documents, Ziya Abashe claimed that she was invited by Akademiks to his home in July of 2022 and was shocked when she arrived and discovered two other men were present. She said the podcaster’s associates, named John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 in the suit, drugged her drink and pressured her to consume more alcohol before raping her on Akademiks’ pool deck.

Subsequently, Abashe said she was woken up around 4 a.m. by Akademiks who was “pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her.” Her lawyers added in the suit that in the moment she was:

“begging [him to stop]…crying for most of this assault but losing her ability to move physically.”

The following day, Abashe said she had to ask Akademiks what occurred as she lost consciousness and was shocked to see video footage of his associates having sex with her, claiming she looked “lifeless” in the video. Additionally, Abashe stated that she was even more taken aback after Akademiks described in detail their own sexual encounter. Afterward, Abashe claimed to have recorded a phone call where Akademiks admitted to having sex with her, despite him subsequently telling the general public otherwise during an interview following news that his home was raided because of the incident.

After the alleged assault, Abashe said that at the advisement of a lawyer, she went to the police, filed a report, and got a rape kit done, prompting authorities to raid Akademiks home in search of evidence. Reportedly, medical examiners photographed bruises on Abashe’s arm, back, buttocks, and legs and allegedly found traces of Akademik’s semen.

Additionally, the suit accused Akademiks of attempting to get rid of the evidence by discarding his bed sheets and subsequently going on a media campaign against Abashe in an attempt to discredit and defame her. She’s suing for an undisclosed amount in damages for rape, sexual assault, and defamation.
