Kevin Durant Becomes Minority Owner Of Prominent French Soccer Club, Paris Saint-Germain, Following Olympic Gold Win

Kevin Durant is now a minority owner of the French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain, adding a new chapter to his already impressive career.

In a recent development, NBA star Kevin Durant has acquired a minority stake in PSG, which boasts multiple sports teams beyond men’s and women’s soccer, including handball, judo, and esports (electronic sports).

Sources familiar with the deal reveal that Kevin Durant’s investment firm, Boardroom, has purchased a “single digit millions” shareholding through a financial avenue created by Arctos Sports Partners.

Arctos, a U.S.-based private investment firm, bought a 12.5 percent stake in PSG last year, valuing the club at approximately $4.58 billion.

Durant, who is known for his outstanding basketball career and recently won a record fourth Olympic gold medal, visited PSG’s new training center at Poissy, near Paris, last week. During his visit, he met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, accompanied by his manager and Boardroom co-founder, Rich Kleiman.

Al-Khelaifi remarked on the meeting:

“It was an honour to welcome Kevin Durant to the Campus today and to witness his passion for Paris Saint-Germain and his recognition of the excellent sports facilities at our new PSG Campus training centre. Kevin is an inspirational athlete, investor, and all-round role model, both on and off the pitch. We are extremely proud of his connection to the Paris Saint-Germain family as we share the same values and vision. We look forward to strengthening our ties and working together with Kevin and Boardroom to bring the best in sport and entertainment to fans around the world.”

Kevin Durant’s involvement with PSG comes as the club explores new collaborations to boost its global brand, including its ongoing partnership with basketball legend Michael Jordan’s Jordan brand, which is now in its sixth year.
