Ellen DeGeneres Reportedly Still Has ‘Ungrateful Anger’ After Being Canceled For Talk Show Scandal

Former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres still feels some type of way about what went down with her show.

Last month, while filming a standup performance for her soon-to-be-released Netflix comedy special, Ellen DeGeneres revealed she has decided to step away from Hollywood. When an attendee suggested she make the switch to Broadway instead, Ellen DeGeneres candidly said,

“Um, no, this is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

An insider close to the celeb recently shared with In Touch that Ellen’s retirement and ill feelings toward Hollywood stem from the controversy that surrounded her talk series in its final seasons.

“Ellen’s decision to walk away from Hollywood is irrational, shortsighted and selfish and really comes from this place of ungrateful anger. It’s only natural that when you see a bunch of articles about what a bad person you are it can feel like the whole world is against you but that is simply not the case with Ellen.”

As previously reported, In May 2021, Ellen revealed that her self-named talk show would conclude at the end of season 19. The announcement came after she was accused of knowingly looking the other way while the series’ executive producers created and upheld a hostile work environment for staff.

The insider continued,

“Ellen needs to be thankful for what standing she still has. Everybody doesn’t hate her. The bosses at Netflix absolutely love her and if they could do five specials with her, or even revive her talk show, they would snap their fingers and make it happen.”

Ellen also noted during the taping of her comedy special that she has no plans to return to Disney/Pixar should there be another installment of Finding Nemo. The 66-year-old voices the beloved character Dory in the film franchise. However, according to the source, Disney would love to have Ellen return.

“They want to make more of those but they really can’t because the whole draw was Ellen’s character and her signature comedic dialogue. That’s a role Ellen could play into her eighties, and entertain more generations of children in the process, and she knows it!”

They added,

“This is simply Ellen over-reacting to the inauspicious end of her talk show. … She’s mad at the world, and ending her career as an entertainer is her way of getting revenge. It’s all very sad.”
