Diddy Allegedly Punched Cassie In Front of Usher, Ne-Yo, & Jimmy Iovine, According to Dawn Richard

Dawn Richard’s lawsuit against Diddy exposes more than just him—it’s a star-studded scandal.

The fallout from singer Dawn Richard’s lawsuit continues as more information is uncovered, specifically allegations that hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs violently assaulted Cassie Ventura, in front of high-profile guests during a dinner in West Hollywood.

Diddy, Dawn Richard

The suit recounts a 2009 or 2010 dinner party where Diddy allegedly assaulted his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in the presence of celebrities such as Ne-Yo, Usher, and Interscope Records’ former CEO, Jimmy Iovine.

Cassie

According to the lawsuit:

“In the weeks and months leading up to the Bad Boy-Interscope deal, Mr. Combs had frequent meetings with producer and then-CEO of Interscope Records Jimmy Iovine. On one such occasion, Combs hosted a dinner at a West Hollywood, California restaurant, which Ms. Richard [Dawn] and Ms. Harper were required to attend.”

The filing goes on to describe an alleged argument between Diddy and Cassie that resulted in a public display of abuse:

“Among the guests at the dinner were celebrities like Ne-Yo and Usher, as well as Mr. Iovine. At the dinner, Mr. Combs and Ms. Ventura had an argument. In front of the dinner guests, Mr. Combs hissed at Ms. Ventura in a screaming whisper and forcefully punched her in the stomach, causing her to double over in visible pain, crying. Ms. Clark escorted Ms. Ventura out of the restaurant, and Mr. Combs remained and continued socializing with the dinner guests.”

Ne-Yo, Usher

The lawsuit aims to highlight Diddy’s alleged dangerous behavior toward women, claiming that those around him were aware of it. Despite the presence of high-profile witnesses, including music executive Jimmy Iovine, the lawsuit asserts that the Bad Boy-Interscope deal proceeded, financially benefiting Diddy and purportedly allowing him to continue his abusive behavior without facing consequences.

Jimmy Iovine

The case, filed in the Southern District of New York, details numerous other instances of abuse and intimidation directed at both Cassie and Dawn Richard, including accusations of verbal abuse, assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Diddy has responded through his attorney, Erica Wolff, who characterized the lawsuit as a baseless attempt to obtain money, stating:

“Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit. In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a payday.”

As the legal battle unfolds, the public eagerly awaits further developments and whether Usher, Ne-Yo, or Jimmy Iovine will address their alleged roles in the controversy surrounding the abuse claims.
