Rich Homie Quan’s Celebration Of Life Ceremony Takes Place In Atlanta + Late Rapper’s First Posthumous Song Is Released

Fans, friends, and family of Rich Homie Quan have gathered in Atlanta to say their final goodbyes to the rapper.

Hundreds of people arrived today (Sept. 17) at World Changers Church International in South Fulton, GA to pay their respects to Rich Homie Quan. As reported, the rapper unfortunately passed away on Sept. 5. His girlfriend, Amber Williams, was the one who contacted authorities after she reportedly found him unresponsive when she returned home from taking their son to school. The official cause of death has not yet been revealed.

During the funeral service, which was live-streamed by several news outlets, Rich Homie Quan’s children led the church in a family prayer. A video was also played of his children sharing their favorite moments with their dad. At the end of the emotional clip, they all expressed,

“I Love you, daddy!”

Others also gave heartfelt speeches about Quan, real name Dequantes Devontay Lamar. Killer Mike expressed to the packed church,

“We’re not burying a musician today, you’re burying a man. You’re burying a man who was a student at Fort Valley, who was a baseball player, who was a son to a mother and father to children.”

He jokingly continued,

“Who was a loving companion to what the internet says, a few women.”

And added,

“But the women that gave him his children he treated with honor and respect.”

Quan‘s first posthumous record “Song Cry” was released on Monday (Sept. 16). In the song, he reflects on witnessing the death of a friend, betrayal, and smoking weed to “fake my feelings.” He raps,

“I have been through so much sh*t, wish you could hear my tears.”
