Prosecutors Deny Leaking Hotel Video Of Diddy Assaulting Cassie
The federal government says they were not involved in leaking the hotel video of Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie.
TMZ reports that prosecutors recently submitted a court motion in response to a motion Diddy filed earlier this month accusing the feds of conspiring against him, denying they even had the footage to hand over to CNN in the first place.
According to the document, federal agents say they searched for the video early into their probe against Diddy, 54, but failed to retrieve it as it had disappeared from the hotel’s server.
They additionally claim that the video didn’t pop back up on their radar until the network dropped it on May 17th, furthering that they still don’t have the original copy and downloaded it straight from CNN’s website.
If you recall, the bombshell video of Diddy attacking Cassie, 38, in a hotel room back in 2016 marked a significant turning part in the string of sexual and physical abuse allegations he’s facing.
Diddy has continuously asserted that the government was responsible for the video coming out. However, the government has continued to deny that claim, further pointing out that several individuals outside of federal agents had access to the video, including hotel employees, the security team contracted at the hotel, and even members of Diddy’s staff.
