Judge Jennifer Mitchell sentenced Justin Johnson to 35 years on a charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and 15 years on another charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Johnson will serve those sentences concurrently in addition to the life sentence he received after being convicted of first-degree murder in Dolph’s death.
In September, he was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Last week, his attorney filed a motion for a new trial, saying that the judge presiding over his case should not have allowed gruesome crime scene and autopsy photos that showed Dolph’s body during the four-day murder trial in September.
Admitted killer Cornelius Smith testified he and Johnson murdered Young Dolph at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies on Airways Boulevard on November 17, 2021.
Continued prayers for Dolph’s loved ones.
