NBA YoungBoy Reaches Settlement In Utah Prescription Drug Fraud Ring Case
Lawyers for NBA YoungBoy were able to secure a nice deal for the jailed rapper.
According to reports, on Monday morning (Nov. 18), NBA YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, pleaded guilty to his part in a large-scale prescription drug fraud ring. You may recall he was accused of running a scheme from his Utah residence in which fake prescriptions for promethazine and codeine were called into several pharmacies around the state.

The “Outside Today” artist was initially looking at 46 charges. However, he ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery and six counts of misdemeanor unlawful pharmacy conduct. In addition, he entered a “no contest” plea to the remaining charges and received a $25,000 fine.
As part of the plea deal, YoungBoy will not be asked to serve time in Utah State Prison. However, he will serve a “substantial” 27-month sentence in federal prison for related federal charges. After his federal sentence, he will be placed on five years (60 months) of federal probation.
