‘The Best Man’ Series To Continue w/ New Book Installments
Fans of The Best Man series are in for a treat!
The beloved characters of the iconic franchise are set to return in a new chapter, with three upcoming book installments announced by series creator Malcolm D. Lee.
Lee, who co-wrote the novels alongside Black Girls Must Die Exhausted author Jayde Allen, teased fans about the first book saying:
“Unfinished Business is the characters you love like you’ve never seen them before! You will laugh out loud and possibly shed a few tears, so read this with your crew.”
Adding:
“A must-read for new and old fans alike. You will keep wanting more.”

Originally debuting as a film in 1999, The Best Man follows novelist Harper Stewart (played by Taye Diggs) as he reunites with college friends (played by Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, and Harold Perrineau). The story explores life, legacy, relationships and love as Harper struggles to move on from an old flame (played by Nia Long), while trying to build something with his new girlfriend (played by Sanaa Lathan).

The second film, The Best Man Holiday, picks up the story 14 years later, leading up to the 2022 release of the eight-part Peacock mini-series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters.
Book 1 of the new series, The Best Man: Unfinished Business, is set to hit shelves on July 1st, with two more books slated for release in 2026.
