Quavo Sued For Infringement By Jay-Z & Nas Collaborator, Accused of Using Artist’s Sculpture For Profit Without Permission
Quavo is facing a new lawsuit from visual artist Daniel Arsham, best known in the hip-hop world for his collaborations with Jay-Z and Nas.
According to XXL, Arsham is suing for copyright infringement, accusing Quavo, his label Quality Control, and their partner HYBE America—headed by Scooter Braun—of knowingly profiting from his work without permission.

Arsham claims Quavo used one of his sculptures in a promotional video shared on social media. The December 2024 post reportedly shows Quavo posing next to Arsham’s full-size sculpture of a 1961 Ferrari GT. The artist says neither Quavo nor his team had a license to use the sculpture, and he’s not even sure how the Migos member obtained the piece. Notably, the sculpture does not appear in Quavo’s official music video.
The suit alleges the following about Quality Control:
“On information and belief, QCM had actual or constructive knowledge of the infringing activities complained of herein, participated materially in said activities, had the right and ability to control said activities, and stood to realize, have realized and continue to realize, a direct and indirect financial benefit therefrom.”
While it’s unclear how much Arsham is seeking in damages, he notes that his pieces typically sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some of his most notable works include the diamond hand sculpture created for JAY-Z’s Book of Hov museum exhibition and accompanying book, as well as the sculpture-inspired album covers for Nas’ The Lost Tapes 2 and Gunna’s DS4Ever.
As of now, Quavo and the other parties named in the suit have not responded in court.
