Judge Who Lowered Bond For Track Meet M*rder Suspect Karmelo Anthony Receives Threats, FBI Investigating
Judge Angela Tucker, who slashed Karmelo Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000, is now under added protection.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ that following Monday’s decision, “court staff and concerned citizens” reported threats against Tucker.
The FBI and CCSO are investigating. The sheriff’s office also confirmed it’s pursuing whoever leaked Tucker’s private info.
“If the individual responsible is identified,” they said, “potential charges could include Unlawful Disclosure of a Residence Address or Telephone Number and Obstruction or Retaliation.”
Tucker made her Twitter page private after the hearing, presumably in response to the backlash. Anthony’s attorney argued the teen had no prior criminal history, but prosecutors pushed for the $1 million bond to remain, citing local m*rder case standards.
After reducing it, Tucker imposed house arrest and ankle monitoring. Anthony is accused of fatally st*bbing Austin Metcalf at a track meet earlier this month.
