Kendrick Lamar Leads AMAs w/ 10 Nominations, Including Song Of The Year For Drake Diss ‘Not Like Us’
Kendrick Lamar is the man to beat at this year’s American Music Awards!
Nominations for the 2025 show dropped yesterday (April 23), and the Compton king came out on top with 10 noms — including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for GNX, and Song of the Year for his now-iconic Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.”
If you recall, that same track already dominated the Grammys earlier this year, snagging five wins including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Performance.
Kendrick’s AMAs reign doesn’t stop there. His collabs “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, and “Luther” with SZA, also scored major nods for Favorite Hip-Hop Song and Collaboration of the Year.

Speaking of SZA, she’s tied with Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter at six nominations each. She’s up for Artist of the Year and Favorite Female R&B Artist.
Breakout rap star Doechii is also getting her flowers with noms for Social Song of the Year for “Anxiety” and Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist.
As we previously reported, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is still crossing genres and kicking down doors, picking up noms for Album of the Year, Favorite Country Album, and Favorite Female Country Artist.
The 51st AMAs will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez and air live on May 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS (also streaming on Paramount+).
Are we shocked by Kendrick’s nominations?
