Smokey Robinson Under Criminal Investigation After Multiple Women Accuse Him Of Sexual Assault
Smokey Robinson is now facing a criminal investigation.
According to TMZ, three women came forward on Friday (May 9) with reports to the L.A. special victims’ unit, which has since opened an investigation. The women are represented by attorneys John Harris and Herbert Hayden, who said they are “pleased to learn that the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. has opened a criminal investigation into our clients’ claims of sexual assault against Smokey Robinson.”
They added,
“Our clients intend to fully cooperate with LASD’s ongoing investigation in the pursuit of seeking justice for themselves and others that may have been similarly assaulted by him.”

This follows a civil lawsuit filed earlier this month by four women, all claiming to be former housekeepers for Robinson, accusing him of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and gender violence.
Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, responded to the criminal probe, saying,
“Plaintiffs filed a police report only after they filed a $50 million lawsuit. This means only that the police are now required to investigate. We welcome that investigation.” Frost insists Robinson “did nothing wrong” and called the lawsuit a “desperate attempt to prejudice public opinion.”
