Bobby Brown Reveals His Signature ’80s Slanted Haircut Was Actually An Accident: ‘A Mistake That Turned Out To Be Great’
Bobby Brown says his iconic ’80s slanted haircut wasn’t planned at all!
The New Edition legend recently revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that the look fans came to know and love was actually the result of a barbershop slip-up. He shared:
“That was a mistake…It was a mistake that turned out to be great.”

Bobby, 56, explained that the now-famous style happened during a routine visit to the barber, saying:
“I was at the barbershop, and I looked the wrong way while he was cutting my hair. I was looking at somebody, and I shouldn’t have been. But he cut my hair the wrong way, and I left it.”
Instead of fixing it, Bobby rocked the slanted cut while filming his breakout hit “Every Little Step,” and the rest is history. The accidental style ended up setting a trend and became one of the most recognizable looks of the era.
Are you shocked to hear how Bobby Brown’s iconic look came about?
