Football Star Travis Hunter To Marry Longtime Girlfriend Leanna Lenee This Weekend + Father Granted Permission To Attend Wedding Ceremony
Travis Hunter Sr. has been granted permission to attend his NFL son, Travis Hunter Jr.’s, wedding, but not without criticism from the court.
The father of the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie is currently serving one year of community control for drug and firearm charges. His attorney, Bradford Cohen, argued for a reduced sentence, stating the NFL star could employ his father and offer him stable housing.
But Palm Beach County Judge Howard Coates wasn’t convinced. “You’re almost arguing for special treatment,” Coates said. “Probably 99 percent of the public… might look at this and say, ‘This sounds like special treatment.’”
While the court denied leniency, Hunter Sr. will be allowed to travel to Tennessee for the May 24 ceremony. Cohen rejected favoritism claims, saying, “Those are simply issues that arose that changed the situation.” Previously, Hunter Sr. missed the Heisman ceremony but was cleared to attend the NFL Draft when his son was picked second overall.
Travis Hunter Jr. will wed longtime girlfriend Leanna Lenee, despite public criticism of their relationship.
