In a New York Magazine cover story, the actor revealed he’s been intentional about staying off social media and limiting interviews to “create a demand” for himself. That decision stems from a blunt piece of advice he once received from Denzel Washington: “Why would they pay to see you on a weekend if they see you all week for free?”
Jordan said Washington’s warning about overexposure stuck with him, helping shape a carefully curated public image.
Jordan’s career began with TV roles on “The Wire” and “Friday Night Lights,” but everything changed after Ryan Coogler cast him in “Fruitvale Station.”
