During his surprise Iceman Episode 1 livestream on July 4, Drake premiered a batch of unreleased tracks, one of which, reportedly titled Supermax, includes a lyric about a woman named Taylor who offered him some heartfelt advice amid “losing friends.”
“I was talking to Taylor over drinks, and it was getting deep / ‘Not everyone can handle this pressure and, in the city, you’re the national treasure,’ that’s what she said to me,” Drake raps on the track.
Shortly after the stream aired, Taylor posted a screenshot of the livestream on her Instagram Story with the caption, “That’s what she said to me,” directly quoting the lyric and appearing to confirm her cameo in the song.
The moment quickly set social media ablaze, with fans speculating about the nature of Taylor and Drake’s relationship. While Rooks has long maintained the two share a strong friendship, some fans even resurfaced old rumors linking her to Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, who notably showed support for Kendrick Lamar during his feud with Drake.
What are your thoughts on Drake’s shoutout and Taylor’s reaction? ?
