Nicki Minaj Says She Turned Down Invitation To Be On Grammy Board: ‘My Integrity Couldn’t Allow Me To Accept’
Nicki Minaj is speaking on her relationship with the Grammys.
In a clip circulating from a Stationhead stream, Nicki revealed that she was once invited to join the Recording Academy board but declined.
“At one point, the Grammys asked me to be on the board… I appreciated it. I thought that was a very kind gesture, but my integrity couldn’t allow me to accept it,” she shared.
She noted this happened before the release of Pink Friday 2.
“My integrity couldn’t allow me to sit on the board of something that made absolutely no sense to me… and to anyone that understands. So, I said no,” she explained.
“Why would I be sitting on the board and I don’t have a Grammy? Like, what?”
