Elmo’s X Account Hacked w/ Racist & Antisemitic Posts + Sesame Workshop Condemns Breach & Vows To Restore Wholesome Presence
Elmo’s official X (Twitter) account was hijacked over the weekend and flooded with disturbing messages. Screenshots revealed racist slurs, antisemitic remarks, and references to Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein—completely at odds with Elmo’s beloved character.
Sesame Workshop confirmed the breach. “Elmo’s X account was compromised by an unknown hacker who posted disgusting messages, including antisemitic and racist posts,” a spokesperson said. They assured fans that steps are being taken to regain control.
The incident follows the viral 2023 post where Elmo asked, “How is everybody doing?” sparking a wave of mental health check-ins. At the time, Elmo responded, “Elmo is glad he asked. Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you.”
No new posts have appeared since the hack. Fans are eagerly awaiting Elmo’s return to restore his wholesome presence to the timeline.
