Former NFL Star Everson Griffen Removed From Delta Flight After Mid-Air Disturbance Forces Emergency Return To Chicago
Former NFL star Everson Griffen was removed from a Delta Air Lines flight on Wednesday after allegedly causing a disturbance mid-flight.
TMZ Sports reports that the 37-year-old former Minnesota Vikings defensive end was flying from Chicago to Minneapolis when the incident occurred.
Flight records indicate the plane returned to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport shortly after takeoff. A Delta spokesperson confirmed, “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior and will always work with law enforcement to that end. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel as safety and security comes before everything else at Delta.”
Whether Griffen was arrested remains unclear.
Griffen, a four-time Pro Bowler, played in the NFL from 2010 to 2021 and recorded 85.5 sacks over 170 games.
