50 Cent’s Publishing Company Sues His Ex Shaniqua Tompkins, Alleges She Violated Life Rights Deal By Profiting Off Personal Stories
50 Cent is taking legal action against his ex, Shaniqua Tompkins, claiming she’s profiting off personal stories she no longer has the rights to share.
According to a new lawsuit filed by G-Unit Books, Shaniqua “irrevocably and exclusively” signed over her life rights to the company back in 2007, agreeing she would not “publicly disclose, exploit, or otherwise commercialize any aspect of her life story or related rights.”
However, in 2023, she allegedly uploaded a YouTube video titled “Other Side of the Coin,” where she claimed to tell “the untold truth of how she helped to build the G-Unit legacy and how Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson wouldn’t be who he is today without her.”
Last month, G-Unit says Shaniqua continued to speak out online. This time, she wrote on Instagram: “Fun fact: I ain’t never sell no ?.” They claim she used speculation around the Diddy case to draw attention to herself and continued telling stories from her past with 50 Cent.
G-Unit is suing for breach of contract and seeking at least $1 million in damages. They also want the court to stop Shaniqua from posting more videos or social content about her relationship with 50.
