CELSIUS Energy Drink Cans Recalled After Some Were Filled w/ Vodka Instead Of Caffeine
A major recall is underway after High Noon revealed a shocking packaging mix-up involving CELSIUS energy drink cans. The company says some cans labeled as “CELSIUS ASTRO VIBE Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition” were actually filled with vodka seltzer.
According to High Noon, a supplier mistakenly shipped the wrong canisters, resulting in CELSIUS-branded cans with silver lids being used for alcoholic beverages. That means consumers expecting an energy boost may have unknowingly consumed alcohol.
“No injuries or illnesses have been reported,” the company said, but warned of “the very real danger of unintentional alcohol consumption,” especially for minors or those avoiding alcohol.
The recall affects specific lot codes on the bottom of CELSIUS cans (L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to 3:11) and High Noon Beach Variety 12-pack boxes (L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to 23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to 03:00). Impacted products were shipped to retailers in six states between July 21 and July 23.
Consumers are advised to dispose of affected cans and email: [email protected]
