Celebrity Fitness Trainer Jillian Michaels Threatens To Sue Netflix Over ‘Biggest Loser’ Documentary
Jillian Michaels is reportedly preparing to take legal action following the release of Netflix’s Biggest Loser documentary.
The celebrity fitness trainer told TMZ she’s teaming up with powerhouse attorney Bryan Freedman to explore her legal options. She called the documentary a flat-out fabrication and accused the show’s producers of misrepresenting their roles in some of its most controversial moments. Legal complaints may be filed against Netflix, the doc’s producers, fellow trainer Bob Harper, and the show’s former doctor, Robert Huizenga.
In a series of Instagram posts, Jillian responded to claims made in the documentary, including allegations that she pushed contestants to take caffeine pills. She shared what she described as receipts showing Harper and Huizenga (allegedly) had approved the use of caffeine on the show, and even claimed the idea came from Harper himself.

Jillian also called out Netflix executive Brandon Riegg, noting that he previously held a senior position at NBC during the later seasons of The Biggest Loser. She implied he had firsthand knowledge of what really happened behind the scenes.
According to Jillian, caffeine was always allowed on set, just like Ambien and smokeless tobacco, though she made it clear she personally refused to use the latter two. She even posted emails to back her statements.
With her legal team in place and documents in hand, Jillian appears ready to fight back and possibly take the matter all the way to court.
