Jussie Smollett Gives Update On Where He Stands w/ “Empire” Cast, Says He Has Love For Mostly Everybody From The Show
It’s all love between #JussieSmollett and MOST of his former Empire castmates.?
Speaking with #KandiBurruss for her Speak On It talk series, Jussie gave an update on his relationship with the cast of Empire, which ran for six seasons from 2015 to 2020. Despite exiting the series in 2019 amid his hate crime controversy, Jussie, who portrayed Jamal Lyon, shared that he has remained very close with his TV mom, Taraji P. Henson (Loretha “Cookie” Lyon), and they talk weekly. “Everyone else I still have love for, I don’t really speak [to them] on a regular basis,” Jussie continued, “but I absolutely have love for mostly everybody from that cast.”
When asked to clarify who his love doesn’t extend to, Jussie chose to keep it cute and stay quiet. He did mention, however, that he still reaches out to Bryshere Y. Gray (Hakeem Lyon), who’s made headlines several times since the show ended due to legal and personal troubles.
Who do you think Jussie’s not cool with anymore? And would you be here for an #Empire reunion??
