Nicki Minaj Addresses The UN About Reported Persecution Of Christians In Nigeria, Thanks President Trump For ‘Prioritizing This Issue’

#NickiMinaj took the podium at a United Nations event on Monday (Nov. 18), organized by the U.S. government, to spotlight the alleged persecution of Christians in #Nigeria.

During her five-minute speech, she thanked #PresidentTrump for “prioritizing this issue” and urged her fanbase, known as “The Barbz,” to stand with her. “Barbz, I know you’re somewhere listening. I love you so very much. … This isn’t about taking sides — this is about standing up in the face of injustice.”

She went on to say, “In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and k!lled… and entire communities live in fear.” Nicki also stressed the importance of religious freedom, adding, “Religious freedom means we all can sing our faith regardless of who we are, where we live, or what we believe.

Her appearance sparked mixed reactions. While several faith-based and political groups praised her for using her platform to highlight a humanitarian issue, others expressed concern over potential misrepresentation and the spread of misleading information.
