Condolences: Wu-Tang Clan Executive Producer Oliver ‘Power’ Grant Has Passed Away
A foundational force behind the scenes of the Wu-Tang Clan has reportedly passed away.
Oliver “Power” Grant, widely recognized as a key architect in the group’s early rise from Staten Island to global Hip-Hop dominance, has d*ed.
Grant’s name appears in the liner notes of numerous classic Wu-Tang releases, where he is credited as an executive producer. A longtime associate of the Clan, Power was an early financial supporter when the collective was forming under the direction of RZA. As the story goes, his ties to RZA’s inner circle helped solidify his place in the movement’s foundation.
Beyond music, Grant founded Wu-Wear, the pioneering streetwear line affiliated with the group, which at its peak operated four U.S. stores and sold merchandise in Macy’s. The brand later evolved into Wu-Tang Brand before relaunching in 2017 with Live Nation as the Clan’s official merch partner.
Grant also appeared in films including Belly and Black and White.
No cause of d*ath has been announced. Prayers to his loved ones during this tragedy.
