Wrong Timing? Gospel Singer Erica Campbell Dragged For Speaking On Upcoming Vow Renewal Ceremony, Shortly After Sister Tina Campbell’s Husband Files For Divorce
Erica Campbell — one half of the gospel duo #MaryMary — is currently being dragged for updating her followers on wedding plans.
Earlier today (Apr. 16), Erica took to X to thank fans who have reached out to help her find the perfect wedding dress as she prepares to renew her vows. “This vow renewal is a celebration of love, family, commitment, and all God has done,” she expressed. Her latest post updating supporters comes on the heels of news that her sister and groupmate #TinaCampbell’s husband, Teddy, filed for divorce. Reports revealed yesterday that after 25 years of marriage, multiple children, and Tina standing by his side following a past cheating scandal, Teddy had called it quits.
While #EricaCampbell first shared news of her vow renewal plans BEFORE Tina’s marital issues became public, many felt her follow-up post thanking supporters for help with her dress choice was poorly timed, given what her sister is going through. The replies quickly flooded in with users calling her out, with one writing, “This isn’t tone deaf Erica. A day after your sisters divorce news goes viral?” Some, however, did come to Erica’s defense, with one fan saying, “You don’t have to not celebrate your winnings because another person getting divorced.”
#TJBCrew, should Erica have held off on sharing more about her wedding plans? Or is the internet overreacting again?
