Dvd’s Parents Break Silence After M*rder Arrest + Say They’re ‘Sad & Disappointed’ But Believe He’s Innocent In Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s D*ath
The parents of rising singer D4vd are speaking out following his arrest, firmly maintaining his innocence as a m*rder investigation unfolds in Los Angeles.
According to a statement released by the family’s attorney, Dawud and Colleen Burke are standing by their son during the legal uncertainty.
“The parents are sad and disappointed that David was arrested, however, they fully stand behind him and believe that he is innocent,” attorney Kent A. Schaffer said. “They fully support him.”
The 21-year-old artist, born David Anthony Burke, was taken into custody at a Hollywood Hills residence in connection with the d*ath of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Authorities allege her remains were found months earlier inside a Tesla vehicle registered to him.
At this time, no formal charges have been filed, and prosecutors have yet to decide whether the case will move forward. His legal team continues to push back against the allegations, stressing that an arrest does not equal guilt and expressing confidence that evidence will ultimately clear him.
