DaBaby Says He’s On The Same Level As Drake, J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar: ‘I’m Better Than These N*ggas’
DaBaby is standing firmly behind his belief that he belongs in rap’s highest tier, placing himself alongside some of the genre’s most celebrated names.
During a recent interview with Nadeska Alexis, the Charlotte rapper addressed his belief that he should be mentioned with Drake, J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar.
Asked if he truly believes that comparison, DaBaby didn’t hesitate.
“A 1000%. A 1000%,” he said.
The rapper explained that his confidence has always been central to who he is as an artist.
“I always say… I’m the best motherf*cking rapper,” he explained. “A lot of people say they the best, but I really mean that. I’m better than these n*ggas.”
DaBaby also made it clear he was not simply repeating common rap bravado.
“I don’t want it to come off like the cliché thing… like ‘you should feel like you the best too,’” he said. “That’s not what I’m saying. I feel like I have the ability to go anywhere musically.”
He added that raw talent is what fuels his confidence most.
“If we strip everything away and just go back to being in front of a microphone… I can get in there with the best of them.”
Do you agree that DaBaby is one of the best rappers alive?
