Drake Appears To Address Kendrick Lamar On Alleged Leak “1 AM In Albany”
The internet is once again in full detective mode after a leaked song allegedly from Drake began circulating online this week — and fans are convinced several lyrics are aimed directly at Kendrick Lamar.
The rumored track, reportedly titled “1 AM In Albany,” quickly started trending across X after a social media account pointed out multiple bars referencing “the number one” spot, “hiding the Bible,” and finally getting “a hit that let you run a base.” Social media users immediately began connecting the lyrics to Drake and Kendrick’s highly publicized rap feud.
One rumored lyric making the biggest rounds online reads, “To be the number one, you gotta lead the way, and to hold something over my head forever, you’re still a couple feet away.” Another line says, “God wanna wipe that lil smug look right off ya f*cking face.”
Fans also zeroed in on a baseball-themed lyric where Drake allegedly raps, “Dodged the truth, but still managed to finally get a hit that let you run a base.” Many online interpreted the line as a response to Kendrick’s chart success during their back-and-forth battle last year, though Drake has not publicly confirmed the song or who the lyrics are about.
Neither Drake nor Kendrick Lamar has officially addressed the leak. Still, that hasn’t stopped social media from dissecting nearly every rumored line as hip-hop fans debate whether the rap battle is truly over — or just entering another round.
